My accusers have an agenda - Ben Ephson

The Managing Editor of the Daily Dispatch Newspaper, Ben Ephson says calls labeling him as secretly belonging to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) are neither here nor there.

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Director, Kwaku Kwarteng had said he had no doubt Ephson was an agent of the NDC seeking the collapse of the NPP.

However, Mr Ephson told Emefa Apawu, host of the Big Bite on X FM 95.1, a private radio station in Accra that such talks do not really get to him as he goes about his work as a pollster.

Mr Ephson said the NPP is accusing him of publishing 15 stories aimed at tarnishing the image of the party from January to April this year, however, within that same period he published 18 stories on the NDC, stressing that it should be the NDC who should be throwing these accusations at him.

Mr Ephson, who insists he is a member of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), said those accusing him of being pro-NDC are out on a secret agenda.

“They want to stigmatize me. Whatever political party I decided to join is my own decision to make and they cannot stampede me,” Mr Ephson said.

He added that now that he has seen that so many people were interested in his political colors, he will issue a press release anytime he makes the decision to join either the NDC or any other political party.

“People are concerned about what political party I belong to, anytime I decide to leave the CPP, I’ll issue a release, just to put them at ease.”
