My Power Minister will announce the end of dumsor – Mahama

President John Mahama President John Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has given another indication that “I will fix this power situation”.

He said he still stands by his announcement in Parliament last February that he will fix the energy crisis by finding a lasting solution.

The timeline on ending the energy crisis was taken to end of 2015 by Member of Parliament for Pru East Constituency Dr Kwabena Donkor, who was appointed the first minister for the Ministry of Power.

However, a recent outburst on a Kumasi-based radio station tells the Minister expressing frustration at the timeline, saying he did not announce it.

But speaking during his ‘Changing Lives Tour’ in the Eastern Region on Saturday, October 17, President Mahama said he was not going to blame any government nor individual for the energy crisis but takes full responsibility.

He observed that given the measures taken by government, the power crisis will end soon and it will be announced by Dr Donkor, who had directed all queries on the crisis to the president.

“I am hopeful that the Minister of Power will announce the end of dumsor,” President Mahama told the gathering at the Koforidua Jackson Park.

He also took the opportunity to tell members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to elect winnable candidates in the November 7 parliamentary primaries.

He insisted that the NDC will win the 2016 general elections “one-touch”, therefore, requiring a majority of members in Parliament to make his governance easy.
