My Critics Should Look for Gari And Eat - Benyiwa Doe

THE FORMER Deputy Minister for Employment and Social Welfare in the NDC regime, Ms. Ama Benyiwa Doe, has said those who are unhappy about her frequent appearances on radio to criticise the NPP government should look for bags of gari and eat for she does not intend to put a halt to the criticisms.

Ama Benyiwa Doe, who is also the Member of Parliament for Gomoa East, was speaking on the Peace FM 'Kokrokoo' programme in reaction to the reported dismissal of employees of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) by the NPP government.

She said as a citizen of this nation, she has the right and duty to air her views on any issues, especially when it is crystal clear that the NPP government was not performing to the satisfaction of Ghanaians.

She criticised the government's laying-off of employees of NADMO, saying as citizens they have a right to employment.

"They are all Ghanaians, not Burkinabes, and some might even be NPP supporters or sympathisers," the former Deputy Minister said.

She said if the NPP government carried its threat through and sacked the employees because they were reported to be NDC members, it would be setting a precedent which would be cited by successive governments to lay off workers suspected to be members of a defeated government.

However, when Ms. Benyiwa Doe was asked what work the NADMO employees were doing, she said she did not know exactly what their work schedule was.
