Muslims urged to rekindle their patriotism

Mr Francis Owusu-Ansah, the Coordinating Director of the Effutu Municipal Assembly, has expressed the need for Muslims to rekindle their patriotism, co-operation and contributions, with the Assemblies, towards the development of the area.

Mr. Owusu-Ansah made the call when he presented 40 bags of rice and 40 gallons of cooking oil, to Muslims within the Municipality at a ceremony held at the forecourt of the palace of the Chief of Muslims in the area on behalf of Dr. Aquinas Tawiah Quansah, Central Regional Minister who doubles as the Municipal Chief Executive for the area.

He said the donation formed part of the social responsibility of the Assembly to support Muslims in the Municipality, adding that it was not easy for one to undergo a thirty- day fasting to pray for the peace and growth of the country.

He stated that the Effutu Municipality appreciated their contributions towards the development of the area, and emphasized the need of them to continue to honour their obligations.

Mr. Owusu-Ansah said, the Assembly would continue to provide the people in the Municipality with needed developments, to ensure their security.

He, therefore, stressed the need for them to also support the Assembly in diverse ways to executive programmes and projects to help improve their livelihoods.

Alhaji Sulemana Selega, Chief of the Muslim Community in the area, and Alhaji Mohammed Monsuru Issah, Chief Imam who jointly received the items on behalf of their people, thanked the Assembly for the gesture, and later prayed for the peace of the country and its total development.
