The Muslim Community in Wa has offered special prayers to Almighty Allah asking him to grant the nation peace, security and development.
The special prayers which was offered during the Friday congregational prayers at the Wa Central Mosque was in honor of President John Dramani Mahama’s request to all Muslims to offer special prayers for the country.
Limann Dr Sule Mohammed Bakuri, Imam of the Jammiat, asked Allah to grant President Mahama and his Ministers the necessary wisdom to enable them lead the nation to greater heights.
He also prayed Allah to guard every citizen of the nation against divisive tendencies and rather pursue things that would unite the people and also bring about development.
Dr. Avea Ephraim Nsoh, the Upper West Regional Minister and his Deputy, Mr. Abu Kabiebata Kansangbata joined the Muslims at the mosque for the prayers.
Dr Nsoh, who addressed the congregation after the prayers, thanked the Muslim community for granting the President’s request and appealed to them to make it a daily affair as the nation was in very trying moments and needed Allah’s guidance to succeed.
He also asked for their prayers and support for him and his team in the region to enable them implement successfully the President’s vision for the region so that in four years time the region would be better than it was currently.
The Regional Minister also called for discipline among all especially the youth who according to him were the hope of the nation in future.
Dr Nsoh said government would continue to explore all opportunities that would bring about the needed development to enhance the living conditions of the people.
