The Muslimah Mentorship Network (MMN) has successfully completed its monthly mentorship program at Jeddah Islamic School, focusing on education, personal hygiene, and women’s health awareness.

In her opening remarks, Miss Hassana Issaka Bambara, who served as the program moderator, underscored the critical role mentorship plays in youth development, stating: “Muslim youth are at a pivotal stage; educational empowerment, personal development, health awareness, and building self-confidence are essential. We must provide strategic guidance that aligns with Islamic values while addressing contemporary challenges. MMN serves as a bridge connecting young Muslims to resources and support systems they need to thrive.”

She emphasised that their mentorship approach would be pivotal in enhancing the students’ personal growth, addressing current educational challenges, and capitalising on opportunities for spiritual and academic development.

The moderator further charged the participating students, urging them to “Embrace continuous learning as an act of worship. Be bold in pursuing your dreams, maintain your Islamic identity, and uphold the values of cleanliness and good character.”

The program, held on Sunday, August 24th, 2025, brought together three dedicated female mentors who delivered impactful sessions during the 2.5-hour initiative from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The event drew active participation from both male and female students, with school imams also in attendance to support the initiative.

Miss Antwon Antoungmine Omar expressed gratitude to the school administration and assured the students that the program’s content would align with Islamic educational principles and contemporary development needs.

The mentorship team comprised Miss Hassana Issaka Bambara as moderator and lead facilitator for menstruation awareness and harassment prevention; Miss Antwon Antoungmine Omar, who delivered the education-focused session; and Miss Rashidatu Abdullah Tetteh, who led the comprehensive personal hygiene discussion. Additional support was provided by attending imams and school administration.

The program opened with student-led prayers and Quranic recitation, followed by interactive sessions covering the value of continuous learning from an Islamic perspective, menstruation awareness and sexual harassment prevention, and comprehensive personal hygiene practices. The event concluded with Q&A sessions, group discussions, gift presentations for active participants, and a networking session where students received MMN contact details for ongoing support.

The initiative was warmly received by the school leadership, who commended MMN’s continued commitment to empowering Muslim students through mentorship, education, and health awareness programs that honour Islamic values while addressing practical life skills.
