Musah Superior gets nomination for Best Mayor Award

The West African Regional Magazine (TWARM), based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has nominated the Metropolitan Chief Executive of Tamale, Musah Iddrisu Superior, for this year’s Mayor of the year award.

This year’s awards ceremony is the 5th edition and it is based on the theme: “Promoting Trade and Business Investment between UAE and African Countries.”

The programme is to enable Africa’s foremost business leaders to connect with potential investors from the Gulf States who are interested in exploring business opportunities in Africa.

This nomination comes in the wake of the mayor’s efforts to instill discipline, improve sanitation and promote socioeconomic development in the Northern Regional capital.

The awards will be held on 24 August 2018 at the Golden Tulip Al Barsha in Dubai.

Reacting to the nomination, Mr Superior expressed excitement in an interview with ClassFM’s Northern Regional correspondent Mohammed Gadafi and indicated that despite the challenges associated with the job, he has never relented on his pursuit to develop Tamale.

“Transforming the idea to the real output required a good deal of effort and various challenges came in the way. I was not alone though, I had my colleagues at TaMA, Assembly persons and the media who walked along with me and who provided huge support to the realization of what I envisioned,” he said.
