Murdered Chief’s wife cries for justice

Patience Osei, wife of the late Chief of Akrofrom in Atwima Koforidua in the Ashanti Region is appealing the state to ensure that justice is served in the murder of her husband, Nana Osei Adusa Gyapong IV.

According to her, although it has been a year since her husband was murdered, there are no indications the culprits will be brought to book, a situation which the family finds very disturbing.

On 14th September, 2015, the chief was brutally murdered by some unknown assailants. He was reportedly shot three times – twice in the neck and once in the leg. He died instantly in the presence of his sons. The traditional leader had inspected a plot of land meant for a project when the gruesome murder took place.

But speaking in an interview with Chief Jerry Forson, host of Ghana Yensom on Accra 100.5FM on Thursday October 27, a tearful Mrs Osei said: “I want to tell Ghanaians that I have lost my entire world through the murder of my husband. Please help me to get to the bottom of the matter so that justice will be done in the matter. The children can no longer go to school because I cannot pay their fees. What to eat has become a problem, we have no help from anybody.”

Meanwhile, the elder brother of the late chief, Mr Nsiah, disclosed that the family used to fuel the vehicles of police officers following up on the case. However, that came to a stop as the family ran out of funds.
