Mpiani requests for probe of forged document

The Chief of Staff, Mr Kwadwo O. Mpiani, has requested the security agencies to investigate the source of a news report purported to have emanated from him, announcing the dissolution of the board of the Management Development and Productivity Institute (MDPI).

?The letter that purports to be the source of the news report is a complete forgery and the security agencies have been requested to investigate this serious criminal act,? he stated. A statement issued in Accra, singed by Mr Mpiani said ?There is also no factual basis for the alleged statement that the acting Director and the Deputy Director of the MDPI have been removed from office, nor that a new person, Mr G. Osei-Tutu Darkwah, has been appointed to act as the Director of the MDPI?.

Last Thursday, a statement issued on the letterhead of the office of the President and signed for the Chief of Staff by one Professor Kaku Appiah-Adu, Head of Police Co-ordination, Monitoring and Evaluation, announced that the Board of Governors of the MDPI had been dissolved with immediate effect.

The statement further announced the termination of the appointment of the acting director, Mr. T.K.A. Bibilazu and the acting Deputy Director for Training Mr M.Y. Zame.

It said the Minister of Employment had been directed to make the necessary arrangements to ensure the proper the proper handing over of any documents and property of the MDPI at the earliest convenience.
