Mpasaaso Health Centre receive GH¢100,000 worth of items

Mpasaaso (Ash), Dec. 16, GNA - The Mpasaaso Health Centre in the Ahafo-Ano South District, on Thursday received a Toyota Land Cruiser, hospital beds, Yahama motor-bike, generator and a television set to enhan= ce its operations. The Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG) donated the items= at a total cost of about GH¢100,000.00 to enable the Centre to carry out i= ts Community Operational Population Health Project (COPH).

The COPH, which started in 2004 with support from the Japanese Organization for International Cooperation on Family Planning, aims at providing family planning services, HIV/AIDS counselling, child welfare clinic, nutrition and school health services in the district. The Middle Zonal Manager of the PPAG, Mrs Christina Acquaah, handed-over the equipment to the Management of the Centre at a ceremony a= t Mpasaaso. She expressed confidence that the items would help the Centre to improve health care delivery in the area. She educated the people on birth control measures in order to empowe= r them to maintain their families.

Mr Reuben Bedzrah, the District Director of Health, said they were grateful for the support, noting that it would significantly help the Cen= tre to function efficiently. On behalf of the Health Centre, he pledged to ensure that the equipm= ent would be handled with care. 16 Dec. 10
