A motorist has aided law enforcement officers to arrest a driver who was caught urinating in the middle of the road during a gridlock at the Tema Roundabout Interchange.
The incident escalated quickly when the offending driver showed a complete lack of remorse for his actions, according to a post on X by SikaOfficial on July 29, 2025.
"A concerned motorist confronted an irresponsible driver who was spotted urinating in the middle of the road at a traffic stop at the Tema Roundabout Interchange. Despite the despicable nature of his actions, the driver remained unremorseful, causing another driver to formally lodge a complaint to the Ashaiman Divisional MTTD, who subsequently arrested him," the caption of the post read.
The concerned motorist, who pleaded anonymity, reported the incident to the Ashaiman Divisional MTTD (Motor Traffic and Transport Department).
When the unnamed motorist approached the recalcitrant driver about his behaviour, the driver replied, "It's fair enough. What I'm going through now, I can’t wait to get to a better urination spot, so I am justified to urinate here,"
Authorities responded swiftly and arrested the driver.
The arrest has been widely applauded by the public, who have expressed disgust at the driver’s behaviour.
There is a need for public decency and for drivers to adhere to traffic regulations.
The Ashaiman Divisional MTTD has assured the public that they will continue to enforce the law and hold offenders accountable.
