An unidentified mother in the Oti Region is demanding answers after her newborn allegedly sustained a deep cut near the ear during a caesarean section at Jasikan District Hospital.

The news was shared on the Facebook page of GH One TV on Monday, November 17, 2025.

"A mother in the Oti Region is seeking justice after her newborn allegedly suffered a deep cut near the ear during a caesarean at Jasikan District Hospital. The family says they were not informed of the injury before being discharged," the post read.

According to reports, the family claimed they were not informed of the injury before leaving the facility.

"The family says they were not informed of the injury before being discharged," it added.

Following the incident, the baby was transferred to another hospital for medical treatment.

The family is now calling on the hospital and relevant health authorities to provide explanations for what happened.

Meanwhile, Jasikan District Hospital is yet to release a statement regarding the incident.
