A former presidential staffer, Charles Bissue, has settled the hospital bills of all mothers who are delivering at the Essikado Government Hospital in the Western Region from Friday, May 9 to Sunday, May 10, 2025, to commemorate the 2025 Mother’s Day celebrations on Sunday, May 10.
In a viral video sighted by GhanaWeb on Saturday, May 9, 2025, some beneficiaries expressed their gratitudes for the kind gesture, which they said brought immense relief.
“My wife delivered at this facility, and the bill has been paid by Charles Bissue because of the upcoming Mother’s Day celebrations. He is covering the bills of all women who delivered from Friday to Sunday, and we are extremely grateful,” a husband of one of the mothers stated.
Another mother who had undergone a Caesarean section shared her appreciation.
“I gave birth at Essikado Hospital through CS, and I want to say thank you to Honourable Charles Bissue for this kind gesture. God bless him wherever he is,” she said.
Health workers at the facility also praised Bissue for his continued support.
“Last year, he paid the bills of new mothers, and this year he has done the same. We are really appreciative. God bless him,” a staff member noted.
The day is a special opportunity to honour the sacrifices, strength and profound contributions mothers make to families.
