A three-storey building under construction at Klagon, a suburb of Tema in the Greater Accra Region, has collapsed, causing damage to nearby properties and leaving a mother and her three children injured.

The information was shared by Channel One TV on their official X page on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.

“A three-storey building under construction at Klagon in the Tema West Municipality collapsed around 4:00 AM, causing the wall of a nearby house to cave in,” the post stated.

The post further indicated that, “A mother and her three children sustained injuries and have been rushed to the hospital.”

Speaking in an interview on JoyNews, and monitored by GhanaWeb on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tema West, Ludwig Teye Totimeh, confirmed the incident.

He noted that the developer has been invited by the assembly to explain the circumstances surrounding the collapse.

Meanwhile, he said officials of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) are working with the Tema West Municipal Assembly to clear debris and ensure that no one is trapped beneath the rubble.

“We have directed the developer to appear before the assembly immediately. A committee will also be established to investigate the cause of the collapse and ensure accountability,” he said.
