Most Ghanaian politicians will go to hell – former NDC MCE

A former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Sekondi-Takoradi, Kobena Prah Annan (alias Marlon) has declared that a majority of Ghana’s politicians will not go to Heaven because of their actions which he has described as “satanic”.

The Mayor revealed that the contest for power in Ghana’s politics is so vicious that some politicians have been killed by others through “juju”, stressing that competition among members of the same party is much more deadly than between parties.

“…It was my own NDC folks who made sure that I was removed from office as mayor because I was not in their camp and was not dancing to the tune of their kind of music but I’m happy that, I’m well today, maybe I would have died by now through juju because I know most of my colleague District Chief Executives who died through juju and I can tell you that majority of politicians in Ghana will not make it to heaven,” he disclosed in an interview with Empire FM on the Ballot Box Show monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

The former mayor revealed that the use of juju in politics is so perverse that even during party primaries to elect parliamentary candidates, delegates are subjected to juju rituals so that they do not make promises and fail.

“… delegates are made to swear with schnapps and eggs and sometimes you find juju in your home or your office, Kwame, politics in Ghana is full of evil, if you really want to go to heaven don’t do politics,” he lamented.

The former NDC mayor, however, insisted that he is still a politician and an active member of the NDC despite the ordeal he went through as mayor which culminated in his removal.

Mr Prah Annan who was appointed as mayor of Takoradi in 2009, and served until 2011, faulted his own party members for orchestrating his removal as mayor when he refused to yield to their demands. Demands he knew were not in the best interest of the metropolis with regards to development.

It is not uncommon to hear non-politicians describe politics as a “dirty game”, the reason for their refusal to be a part of it.
