SSNIT has interdicted Caleb Afaglo as the head of IT following a request by EOCO SSNIT has interdicted Caleb Afaglo as the head of IT following a request by EOCO

The woes of Caleb Afaglo, embattled head of IT at Social Security and National Insurance (SSNIT) appears not be inching to an end as there indications management are determined to retrieve all monies he received in the form of salaries since he joined the company in 2015.

According to current managers of SSNIT, if indeed it is established the degrees he claims to possess are not genuine, he will be compelled to refund all salaries he received to the last penny.

Scrutiny into his academic credentials is expected to take centre stage at the next SSNIT Board meeting after the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) indicted him for holding fake degrees.

Dr Afaglo claimsthe University that awarded him the Doctorate (Ph.D) has been closed down and he cannot be blamed for it.

According to a StarrFMonline report he was reported to have said:“This is not my first job, so there is absolutely no truth in it right? None whatsoever. My Ph.D. University closed down in 2011, how is that my fault. And how does that make the degree a fake one when I graduated in 2007”.

Dr. Caleb Afaglo has a BSC and MBA from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. from the Kennedy Western University.

Prior to his appointment at SSNIT, Dr. Afaglo had worked as IT consultant for the Trust, National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA), Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), and at MTN Ghana and Action Chapel International as the Data Services Supervising Engineer.

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) revealed that the Head of Information Systems at the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), who supervised the investment of the controversial $72million in a malfunctioning computerised system, has questionable credentials.

Consequently, SSNIT interdicted Caleb Afaglo as the head of IT following a request by EOCO.

A source at EOCO said the preliminary investigations points to suggestions that, Afaglo does not have a doctorate degree as he claimed, neither does he have a masters’ degree nor, first degree as stated in his curriculum vitae (CV) .
