A man believed to be in his 20s has been found dead floating in a dam at Zebilla in the Bawku West district of the Upper East region.

Marks of assault were found on the body which has since been examined by doctors at the Zebilla Government Hospital before being released to the family for burial.

He was identified as Kwabena Anyagre, a butcher.

The district police command in Zebilla said they received a call from an unidentified person that someone was floating on a dam in Zebilla following which they dispatched personnel to the scene.

Thomas Anyagre, brother of the deceased, said the Kwabena left home on December 31, 2019 and never returned.

He said efforts to find him proved futile until Sunday, January 5, 2020 when they received a call from the Police informing them of the incident.

“We rushed there and he was floating on the water and was brought out with marks all over his body,” Thomas told 3news.com.

According to him, his brother might have been beaten to death before being dumped into the dam.
