Minority Leader urges Ghanaians to support constitutional review process

Kumasi, Feb. 13, GNA - Mr Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, Minority Leader of Parliament and Member of Parliament (MP) for Suame, has appealed to Ghanaians to support the review of the country's Constitution. They should also offer credible and concrete suggestions to the review Commission to enable it come out with a functional constitution that would stand the test of time.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi, Mr Mensah- Bonsu stated that reviewing the constitution will ensure stability, good governance and democracy in the country. He noted that some provisions in the constitution, especially the transitional provisions were written in a hastily manner without thorough discussions and expressed the hope that its review would help put things in order.

The Minority Leader asked Ghanaians to give the Review Commission their fair views of the operation of the Constitution and weaknesses to enable it come out with an acceptable document that would help deepen democratic governance in the country. 13 Feb. 10
