An official statement issued from the Ministry in Accra on Tuesday said the delegation would also take part in the High Commissioner's Forum, which would be discussing various issues relating to the management of refugees.

Other members of the delegation were Mr Edwin P.D. Barnes, Chief Director of the Ministry, Mr A.O. Akiwumi, Chairman, Ghana Refugee Board and Nana B. Amposah, an Assistant Director at the Ministry.

The delegation would hold discussions with the United Nations High Commissioner on the refugee problem in Ghana and the need for more resources to cater for them.

Ghana currently hosts about 50,000 refugees from a number of countries, mostly from Liberia and Sierra Leone.
