Minister of Business Development, Ibrahim Mohammed Awal will launch the Global Entrepreneurship Week in Accra on Monday, 13th November 2017.

The Minister will be joined by the leadership of the University of Ghana, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebenezer O. Owusu and other prominent business leaders.

The Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), which takes place from 13th to 19th November 2017, is the world’s largest gathering of innovators and entrepreneurs who launch start-ups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and stimulate socio-economic development.

Every year in November, a week is dedicated to inspiring millions of people from more than 165 countries through local, national and global activities designed to help them unleash their potential as entrepreneurs and innovators.

In its 10th Year, Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Ghana with support from British Council kicks off with a Town Hall Event at the University of Ghana Business School dubbed ‘The art of entrepreneurship’ designed to inspire, educate and mentor through the sharing of entrepreneurial journeys and experiences.

Confirmed speakers include Mr. Kenneth Thompson, CEO, Dalex Finance, Mr. Godfred Obeng Boateng, Founder, A1 Bakery, Mrs. Beryl Agyekum Ayaaba, CEO, Echohouse LTD and Miss Cordie Aziz, Founder, Evironment360.

Speaking about GEW, Mr Stephen Gyasi-Kwaw, the Managing Director of Global Entrepreneurship Network-Ghana, the official host of GEW in Ghana said ‘we are very excited about the partnership and the participation of the Ministry for Business Development to drive and promote entrepreneurship in Ghana and to have the Minister as our special guest of Honour for the Kick-off Event’.

The week will be celebrated with series of local and national signature events including a Policy Forum on Women Economic Inclusion, Start-up Weekend Accra where business will be created with 54 hours and much more.
