Minister leaves for Talks

Accra, Oct 14,GNA- Dr Konadu Apraku, Minister of Regional Cooperation and NEPAD on Tuesday left for Ouagadougou to attend Ghana-Burkina Faso Bilateral talks on the effective implementation of ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme (ETLS).

A statement signed by Mr. Kwasi Asante, Economic Officer for the Minister said while in Burkina Faso, the Minister will hold discussions with his counterpart on issues centered on deepening relations and trade between Ghana and Burkina Faso.

The statement said the three day bilateral talks is a follow up to a meeting of technical experts from both countries in Ouagadougou from 3rd to 5th of March, 2003.

It said the talks would examine how the two countries could mutually exchange ideas and forge closer cooperation to execute ECOWAS programmes designed to improve their standards.

The release noted that other issues to be discussed include the free movement of persons and right of Residence among other things. The Minister is expected to return on October 16, the statement said.
