Accra, June 30, GNA - Mr Alexander Asum-Ahensah, Minister of Chieftaincy and Culture on Tuesday apologized for his inability to appear before the house on Monday to answer a question.
He explained to the house that he had attended a funeral in the North and was on his way back to Accra and that he was not even aware that he was to answer questions in parliament on the same day. Mr Asum-Ahensah had already provided the answer to his questions, meaning that he was aware.
Mr Asum-Ahesah said, "I received a telephone call that I was to answer a question in parliament and by then I was in Kumasi but this was misinterpreted that I was on my way."
He said he was not aware of the house sitting on Monday because he left Accra on Thursday.
Mr Ambrose Dery, Deputy Minority Leader, could not believe that the Minister was not aware of the Monday sitting because he had already answered the question.
He said there was some difficulty to understand the reason for the Minister's inability to appear before the house. Mr Dery said the he was also not in the house on Friday but he was informed about the Monday sitting. Two Minister of Defense and Minister of Chieftaincy and Culture were to appear before the house on Monday but none came. 30 June 10
