Minister To Fall

Nana Akomea, Minister for Information, appears to be dimming and over the last two weeks he has been ensnarled in controversy over the arrears of the GETFund and the serial killing of women.

His handling of these two issues has been described variously as embarrassing, incompetent and amateurish by commentators and persons from all the sides of the political divide.

The harshest criticism has come from the NDC, which said in a statement issued last Monday that “The performance of the Information Minister so far has been a disaster and he will do himself a lot of good if he refrains from further making a laughing stock of himself as he is an embarrassment to his government.” - Insight

PALAVER DARES NANA AKOMEA

The paper in a front – page comment has dared the Minister for Information, Nana Akomea to publish his alleged 9 – page police preliminary report into the so-called plot by the “Quality Grain 3” and the condemned prisoner, Charles Quansah to have frame up the Government, so that it will also publish the transcript of the Charles Quansah tape.

In the paper’s opinion, what the Minister said on August 14, 2003 at his press briefing that he had a 9 – page report, that was unseen, unread untested by journalist and yet he expected that it be published, is to say the least, an insult to Ghanaian journalists. - Palavar
