Mills did nothing for Otuam

The youth of Otuam, hometown of late President Mills have bared their teeth at the ghost of the former Ghanaian leader criticizing him for doing nothing significant for their town.

According to one Kakra Otuam, a youth of the town, the former president hugely disappointed the people by breaking almost all promises made to them during the 2008 general elections and in effect doing “nothing” for the town.

Mr. Kakra Otuam, in an exclusive interview with the Daily Searchlight newspaper, bemoaned what he called “the total lack of development” in the town which has produced a whole president.

The seriously unhappy young man said the town of Otuam would have definitely been better off without having the former president as a native.

Mr. Kakra, echoing the cries of majority of Otuam youth said that the community of Otuam, after having a native as the president of the republic, has absolutely nothing significant to boast of.

As he put it, “President Mills did nothing for us.” he further revealed that the town has no reliable access road network, a very terrible-looking market and worse still, only one bore-hole for the entire population of over 10,000; the only bore-hole, he said, interestingly serves three more communities, after Otuam.

These communities, he mentioned, are Kotankra, Estibeedu and Dogo, a town in the Gomoa East Constituency.

The young Kakra further revealed that for the lack of development in the town, he has decided to staunchly support Mr. Ato Cudjoe, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate as he is of the firm belief that the latter is the only man desirous and committed to the cause of Otuam and the Mfantseman East Constituency.
