Prophet Eric Nana Akwasi Amponsah has revealed that the late President John Evans Atta Mills bought him a set of musical instruments worth GHC80,000 for his church service.

The General Overseer of Hope Generation Ministry International speaking in an interview with asempanews.com described the late president as a generous person, who upheld the word of God and applied biblical standards in all his dealings.

“I prayed for Prof. Mills and predicted his victory in 2008. In 2007, he visited my church and procured musical instruments worth GHC80,000 to help the work of God,” Prophet Akwasi Amponsah who is popularly referred to as Computer Man disclosed.

He said the gesture by Prof. Mills helped the growth of the church, as the instruments attracted new members to the church.

He added that even though he read political science at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and is well versed in politics, he always remained neutral and have never endorsed any political party.

“Christians, particularly pastors must refrain from active politics and play a neutral role at all times. Upon my friendship with Prof Mills, I never endorsed him because governments and politicians will come and go, but the church will forever be there.

“Once you endorse one political party, you are indirectly telling the congregation to vote in that direction, and that is not good enough. We must not influence the choice of our members,” the man of God advised.
