Mills Must Step Down In The National Interest -NPP UK and Ireland

During the 61st New Year school in January this year, A speech was read on the behalf of President Mills by Alex Tettey Enyo, Minister of Education. promising Ghanaians that he would sustain democratic governance , uphold the rule of law, end the culture of imputiny and indiscipline raging in the country. He also promised to abide by the sanctity of the constitution.

The situation in Ghana today however paints a different picture. Since he made this promise, Journalists have been arrested and harassed for criticizing the government, elements of the ruling party and their sycophants in the press are threatening members of the judiciary, members of his party especially the youth are still seizing public toilets and offices and driving out officials of the National Health Insurance Scheme offices. The latest institution to be attacked are the district assemblies and the district Chief Executives. We have seen violent attacks on district and municipal chief executives in Wa, Yendi, Tamale, parts of Brong Ahafo and Western Region
Currently the state of Youth employment is so alarming that we are sitting on a timebomb. By March, 2011 285,000 graduates have no access to a job,47,300 have been sacked from the National Youth Employment Scheme. Akua Dansua Ministry for Youth and Sports makes an appaling statement that the National Youth Employment Scheme will no longer focus on employment, Magician Okudzeto Ablakwa’s 1.5 million employment figures were disputed by his own colleague E.T. Mensah, Minister of Employment who said he did not know about these figures when he was asked,Tema Oil refinery is shut down deliberately for weeks, so crooked oil marketing companies owned by NDC members can import crude oil and sell back to the public and make a profit and trouser the money to their pockets.
The recent outbursts by the likes of Dr Kwabena Adjei, The NDC chairman who claims he and his party members would clean up the judiciary and that there are many ways to kill a cat should have all decent minded Ghanaians concerned. Mr Adjei really should concentrate on sorting out the chaos and confusion at GETFUND and return the 45 BILLION Ghana Cedis he has stolen from so far. Are NDC youths going to be unleashed on the Chief Justice, the Supreme court judges or the High court judges, are the courts in Ghana going to be locked up or are they going to be assassinated as happened 26 years ago?
Our Armed Forces, Police and BNI will now be used to protect Giselle Yadzi. If she is a woman of truth why does she need police and military protection? We never knew our security services would be ridiculed this way. Brigadier Nunoo Mensah must be ashamed of himself. It is only in todays Ghana that a man who has been involved in every military coup since 1966 can become a National security Advisor. We call on Ex -President Kufuor to ignore the empty barrel noise and concentrate on the good things he his doing with his life and in the party. We know he can look after his children and grandchildren unlike some present leaders and their wives who spend their money buying dog food to feed dogs while their child or children are not allowed even by the same wives to visit .
The State of anarchy in Ghana can be blamed on one man and that is Professor Mills. He has abdicated his responsibilities to his constitution party and his country. He has allowed the rule of law to collapse, the constitution to be subverted, our Petroleum industry to be hijacked by cronies, our people to be enduring high utility bills. He has stood by while our fishermen struggle, our traders lose money, our teachers dislillusioned, our businesses complain of neglect . There is no plan, no vision and no direction in this NDC government.
We are saying it like it is Ghanaians voted for Professor Mills but WE QUESTION HIS JUDGEMENT,HIS ATTITUDE,HIS HUNGER TO BUILD AND BRING PROGRESS TO OUR COUNTRY AND IT IS JUST NOT THERE. His own party members are questioning his leadership.
We end with the words of Dr Sekou Nkrumah a member of the NDC, who we may disagree with on a lot of things but agree with him on some of the things he said “I regret campaigning and voting for Mills”. “Professor Mills is not the leader we are looking for”. Professor Mills must search his conscience, accept that his health, his fitness, his mental state cannot cope with the demands of government. He must do the decent thing and step down .
