Mills Misled In BA

RESIDENT MILLS was deceived into thinking that a tomato processing factory, a ministerial block and an electrification project in the Techiman Municipality were the initiatives of his administration.

Unknown to President Mills, the projects were commissioned by ex-president Kufour way back in 2006.

Speaking to Classic FM, a private radio station, the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo, told listeners that the president was going to commission the projects on Thursday 7th April 2011.

After the radio interview, several callers criticized the minister that he was deceiving the president to safeguard his job since he had the hint that the president was going to remove him from office.

The Techiman Municipal Administration Block was started by the NDC in 1999 but was continued by the New Patriotic Party when it came to power in 2001.

Fiaso is one of the 19 villages in the Techiman Municipality connected to the national grid in 2008 before the NPP left office.

The president has been misled into believing that the project was executed in 2011 to let the people feel the Better Ghana agenda of the NDC.

A teacher at Fiaso told DAILY GUIDE that the MCE, Alex Kyeremeh, did not do the president any good because, the people of Fiaso know very well that the project was executed by the Kufour administration.

In the case of the Techiman Tomato Factory, the project was commissioned by former President Kufour in 2008 when he attended the National Farmers' Day which was held at Techiman.

All the necessary machines have been fixed for the commencement of the production of tin tomato while workers are busily putting things in place.

What have been added to the tomato project by the NDC government are the pavement tiles at the forefront of the building.

Investigations conducted by DAILY GUIDE indicated that several projects commissioned by the president in the Brong Ahafo Region were those embarked upon by the Kufuor administration but the Regional Minister and his DCEs subtly deceived the president who applauded them.

In an interview with the Techiman South Communication Director of the opposition NPP, John Donyina, he complained bitterly about the ingratitude of the NDC regime.

According to Mr. Donyina, even though the Regional Minister and his DCEs had been able to deceive the president, they would not be able to deceive the people of Techiman who are living witnesses to the fact that the projects were implemented by the Kufuor regime.

He said the Regional Minister lied when he told a radio station that the Ministerial Block was abandoned by the NPP government and challenged him to tell Ghanaians how much the NDC regime had put into that project.
