Mills Authorises Monthly Cash For

.... Ghanaian Lens ,Al Hajj, Informer And Daily Post.

Sources at the castle have informed the New Free Press that In a ruthless determination to compete effectively and to counter the propaganda from the NPP , President John Evans Atta Mills, the man of peace is tired of being a nice guy and has decided to step up the offensive against the NPP and also rally the NDC party machinery behind him for a crushing victory in 2012. As part of his plans, President Mills has instructed the office of the Chief of Staff Led by his trusted friend and confidante, Mr John Henry Martey Newman to support the efforts of four Key Pro NDC newspapers, The Al Hajj, the Informer, the Ghanaian Lens and the Daily Post.

With effect from 13th March 2012, Editors of these newspapers who have been vociferous in their support of the president namely Mr Kobby Fiagbe, Mr Alhaji Iddrissu Bature, Mr Andrew Kankam and Mr Michael Dokosi, one of Ghana’s fastest rising investigative journalists are to receive 15,000 Ghana cedis every month from a special operational fund at the office of the Presidency .The aim is to increase their newspaper circulation nationwide and to support the Mills campaign effectively. In addition to these amounts, The aforementioned press houses are to receive logistics each as well as regular petrol coupons to reduce their petrol costs. This was sighted in a document titled “Building a strong communications unit for 2012-winning the media war”. They have also been promised an estate house each in the event the NDC wins the next elections.

President Mills is due to hold a special lunch meeting with the four key editors, who will be instrumental to the campaign of the ruling NDC to retain power on April 11th to thank them for their work and discuss other ways and means their media houses will help his campaign.

Watchers at the castle say this move is long overdue as Kobby Fiagbe, Alhaji Bature, Andy Kankam and Michael Dokosi have formed the cornerstone of the governments communication hub and it was important that due reward and recognition be given to them. There was also speculation that Alhaji Bature, Editor of the Al Hajj was being pencilled to be the Deputy Ambassador to Saudi Arabia but it was decided he should stay in Ghana and spearhead the battle to retain the NDC in power.
