The late Priscilla Nyamalor, one of the six victims who lost their lives in the military stampede that occurred during the Ghana Armed Forces recruitment exercise at the El-Wak Sports Stadium, is being laid to rest today.
During the ongoing funeral ceremony, a video surfaced on social media capturing the mother of the deceased grieving severely.
Overwhelmed with emotions, the late Priscilla’s mother was seen standing beside her daughter’s remains as she wept uncontrollably.
Suspended military recruitment exercise in Accra set to resume
In the one-minute video circulating on X, she was seen being assisted by several individuals after multiple failed attempts to console her.
About the stampede:
On November 12, 2025, a military enlistment exercise turned tragic when a stampede at the El-Wak Sports Stadium claimed the lives of several applicants.
According to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), the incident occurred due to an unexpected surge in the number of applicants who thronged the stadium.
What we know so far about deadly military recruitment stampede
Reports have indicated that applicants breached security protocols and rushed the stadium gates even before the scheduled start of the exercise.
Several others were left injured and in critical condition.
