Military & Police Invade Asabaha; Seize Lands, Torments Owners

Some personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces and the Ghana Police Services have consistently been harassing the people of Asabaha , Amamfrom, turning themselves into land guards, terrorizing residents and developers of the land.

Information received has it that, these Police and Military personnel who are engaging in this act of tormenting the land owners have no documents to the said properties in the area, but yet continued to attack the legitimate residence of Asabaha, laying hold of their landed properties.

These Police and Military Personnel’s have regular threatened the people of Amanfrom on their request of being owners to the lands but could not produce any formal document covering the lands.

However, Nii Kwashei Gbobor, IV, calls on Inspector General of Police, Paul Tawiah Quaye and chief of Defence staff to call their security men to order.

According to investigations conducted by the chief of Amanfrom, Nii Kwashei Gbolor IV and his elders has revealed that some Police and Military Personnel’s who claims ownership to lands at Amanfrom in the Ga West district of the Greater Accra Region, are all false.

But chief of Amanfrom Nii Kwashei Gbolor IV indicate that, his elders have not formally sold or documented any land to any Military or Police Personnel within the said location where they continue to harass the resident in the Area popularly known as Asabaha.

He noted that the Military and the Police have persistently invaded the area with AK47 assault Raffles to threaten the residence depriving them of their peaceful atmosphere.

The Police and Military Personnel on Saturday 1st September 2012 invaded the land without documents, insisting that the people and developers should stay away from the site.

Nii Kwashei Gbolor IV, stated that all land cases are handled by the Police Administration through the Property Fraud Unit at the Criminal Investigation Department, Headquarters of the Ghana Police Service and would appeal to property owners to address their grievances through such quarters.

He appealed to the Inspector General Police and the Chief of Defense, Staff to call his men to order to bring the situation under control.
