Military Men Beat Up Aliu's Sympathisers In Tamale

It is not just in the capital Accra, that Vice President Aliu seems to be at the receiving end of all kinds of negative schemes from his party. Even in his own Tamale backyard, the combined forces of Kufuor and Alan aided by Amin Anta, are making things really hot for Veep Aliu and his supporters.

Matters came to a head last week when Alan Kyeremateng, the man President Kufuor has thrown his full weight behind, undertook a campaign tour of the region.

Panelists taking part in a weekly political program on North Star radio, last Tuesday were brutally assaulted by some military personnel. North Star radio is widely known in Tamale as a station owned by Vice President Aliu Mahama. Adam Gafaro, Sulley Salifu and Adam Yusuf, all known sympathizers of Veep Aliu Mahama were three of the Panelists who were brutally assaulted.

Residents of Tamale learned of the attack when some of the panelists started screaming out during the live program and announcing that they were under attack from military personnel. The military goons are believed to have come from Kamina barracks which is just a few metres from the North Star radio station.

The Aliu team in Tamale has no doubt as to who masterminded the attack. They point fingers in the direction of Alan Kyeremanteng and specifically, to Amin Anta who is considered as the mover and shaker for Alan at the behest of President Kufuor.

The Aliu team in Tamale believes that Amin Anta masterminded the military assault because of the way the panelists that evening had taken him to the cleaners over comments he had allegedly made about Veep Aliu. Amin Anta, while interacting with party delegates in the company of Alan Kyeremanteng, is said to have made some derogatory comments about the Vice President in a bid to win the delegates to the side of Alan Kyeremanteng, Kufuor’s anointed aspirant.

The assault by the military men was not limited to only the panelists in the studio. All souls found within the premises were said to have received their fair share of the beating.

Residents of Tamale are surprised that Amin Anta, whose wedding last year, was said to have largely been bankrolled by Aliu Mahama, has now completely turned against the man who was so benevolent to him. Amin Anta is believed to have deliberately absented himself from town the last time Aliu was in Tamale on his campaign tour but was seen last week in his official Nissan Patrol vehicle (GT 2821 T) in the convoy of Alan Cash. At a press soiree organized for Alan, Amin Anta was prominent as well.
