Middlesex University presents books to Presbyterian University

Abetifi, Nov. 21, GNA - The Middlesex University in the United Kingdom (UK) has presented 700 books worth 42,000 Ghana cedis to the Presbyterian University College (PUC), Okwahu campus at Abetifi. The presentation was made through the Okwahuman Association in the UK.

The books covered subjects such as business, law, banking, marketing, accounting, English literature and computer engineering. Presenting the books an official of Middlesex University, Dr Ghalab Fahad, said the donation followed an appeal from the association to the university and that the university would support the PUC to establish exchange programmes between the two universities. The Vice Chairman of the association, Mr Kwaku Asante, said Kwahu citizens in the UK had come together to contribute and solicit assistance towards the development of the Kwahu community at home. He said the association would continue to donate books, computers and also assist to provide more infrastructures for the university. Dr Kofi Agyemang Badu, a Health Consultant in the UK and a member of the association, urged Kwahu citizens to take advantage of the establishment of the university in the area and acquire the requisite knowledge to become responsible adults.

The Principal of the PUC, Professor Kofi Sraku Lartey, thanked the Middlesex University and the association for the donation appealed for more assistance and funds to build a bigger library, hostel, bungalows and lecture halls.

The Chief of Abetifi Kubease, Nana Otupiri Kwagyan, appealed to the association to extend its assistance to the other campuses of the university at Akropong Akuapem and Asante Akyem Agogo and senior high schools in the Kwahu area
