Metro Mass hub launched at Yendi

Yendi, (N/R), May 26, GNA - The Metro Mass Transit (MMT) Limited has opened a Metro Mass hub at Yendi to offer regular and scheduled bus services throughout the day from Yendi to Zabzugu, Bimbilla, Wulensi and Yendi to Tamale.

Mr Cas van Eerden, Managing Director of the Metro Mass Transit Ltd, who launched the hub in Yendi on Thursday said the buses would operate hourly to serve the people of Yendi and other districts in the eastern corridor.

He announced that the Company had cancelled the activities of loading boys who were not staff of the MMT, adding that uniforms would be provided for the drivers, officers and porters for easy identification.

Mr Hastings Acquah Wilson, Traffic Manager, urged the bus drivers to develop a harmonious working relationship with their passengers. He said apart from the eastern corridor of the Northern Region, the Company would also operate from Tamale to Techiman, in Brong Ahafo, Makango in the Northern Region and Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region. Alhaji Mohammed Habib Tijani, Yendi District Chief Executive in a speech read for him, impressed upon the people on the need to maintain peace and to develop cordial relations with the workers of the Metro Mass Transit to enable them to enjoy smooth travel to transact their businesses.

He assured the Company that the Assembly would continue to collaborate with it to facilitate its operations in the District.
