The Paramount Chief of the Upper Dixcove Traditional Area and Overlord of Dixcove, Obrempon Hima Dekyi XIV, has achieved a historic milestone in the Western Region by becoming the first and only paramount chief from the region to be called to the Ghana Bar.
Having successfully completed and excelled in law school, Obrempon Hima Dekyi XIV is among 824 prospective lawyers who have been officially called to the Bar on Friday, October 10, 2025.
To top it all off, Obrempon Hima Dekyi XIV’s call to the Bar coincides with his birthday, which also falls on Friday, October 10, 2025, marking a double celebration in his remarkable journey.

He has spent a total of 10 years on the stool as the Paramount Chief of the Upper Dixcove Traditional Area and Overlord of Dixcove, a period marked by dedicated service.
Aside from his accomplishment of being called to the Bar, Obrempon Hima Dekyi XIV, whose birth name is Eric Owusu, also boasts several other academic accolades.

He holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in science, with a focus on Physics and Mathematics, from the University of Cape Coast, a Master of Science (MSc) in Oil and Gas Management from Coventry University in England; and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree, also from the University of Cape Coast.
