Meet Me At NRC -Adabuga to JJ

Corporal Matthew Adabuga has challenged former President Rawlings to meet him at the National Reconciliation Commission (NRC) over comments he made at the Commission last week.

Adabuga who works with the International Red Cross in Norway says he flew down to Ghana just for the purpose of giving evidence at the commission and if the former President is controverting any part of the evidence, he would want to meet him one-on-one before the NRC.

Adabuga told the Commission that Rawlings ordered the murder of the three judges and popped champagne when he was informed that they had been killed. But the ex-President’s lawyers have described the statement as a pack of lies.

Sources close to Adabuga say he is amazed at statements from the aide to the former President, Victor Smith and Dr Kumbuor, Rawlings’ lawyer who are claiming that he was brought down by the Kufuor government to indict and harass the former President.

According to Adabuga, he has lived with a sense of guilt all these years and just welcomed the opportunity to take some load off his shoulders. Meanwhile, the former President is expected to appear before the commission anytime soon to respond to allegations made against him.
