Medway Ghanaian Association organises 'Family Fun Day'

Members of the Medway Ghanaian Association and members of the Medway Parkinson Association at the Family Fun Day Family fun day event was organised by the Medway Ghanaian Association (MGA) at Great Lines Heritage Park, Brompton Road, Gillingham, Kent on Saturday 13/07/2019.

It was held to bring members, friends and the community out to have a fun filled day whilst showcasing the beauty and essence of having a united front from various backgrounds.

The gathering was supported by the Medway Council, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (Nasir Mosque), Medway Community Police Force and the Local Parkinson’s UK Group.

It all started with a clean up of the surroundings of Great Lines Heritage Park from 9:00 am till 12:30 pm. Special assistance by Medway Council in providing tools and materials for the clean-up.

There were lots of activities from 13:45 pm to capture every age and gender. Among these were sack races, egg spoon races, bouncy castle, just to name a few.

The highlight was a football match between Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (Nasir Mosque) and the Medway Ghanaian Association (MGA). The Medway Ghanaian Association (MGA) came out winners and held on to the much-converted priceless trophy.

The Medway Community was treated to afrobeat music, plenty of delicious intercontinental and Ghanaian dishes for everyone to tuck in. Not forgetting the variety of assorted drinks for all ages.

The occasion was graceful enough to welcome the presence of Rehman Chishti- MP for Gillingham and Rainham, Cllr Habib Tejan- Mayor of Medway, Dr. Bhargawa Vasudaven- Deputy Lord Lieutenant representing the Lord Lieutenant of Kent, Bobby Mahay- Community Police Liaison Officer.

A special mention to Sue-Chairperson of the Independent Police Advisory Group (IPAG) and husband Steven for their relentless support and continuous assistance for MGA programs.

A special mention to our Chairman Dr. Kwashie Amartei Anang and the ever-hard-working team behind him.

The biggest applause goes to all our members who supported this this cause till the end. It is with so much pride to say, we pulled this off spectacularly.
