Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the McDan Group of Companies, Dr. Daniel McKorley through his foundation – The McDan Foundation has produced and distributed five thousand (5,000) free hand sanitizers to various organizations in the country.

The sanitizers were given to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), the National Security, the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Health Service (GHS).

The gesture is in fulfillment of a promise made by the Chairman of the McDan Group of Companies as part of his contribution to the help contain the spread of COVID-19.

The Disease Surveillance Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, United Television, and the Multimedia Group also received the hand sanitizers produced by McDan Foundation.

The distribution by the McDan Foundation is in response to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s appeal for the business community in the country to lend their support to the fight against the COVID-19 virus.

During the distribution, Dr. McKorley Described the Coronavirus as a common enemy and called for a concerted and collective effort to enable the country overcome and win the fight against the pandemic.

"Coronavirus is our common enemy. We can #StopTheSpread if we put our collective shoulders to the wheel" he said.

Dr. McKorley has also selected Ten (10) entrepreneurs who will produce hand sanitizers in the country in commercial quantities using local raw materials.

These 10 entrepreneurs will be given funding of various amounts to go into the commercial production of hand sanitizers in a bid to address what Dr. McKorley says is the artificial shortage of hand sanitizers in the country.

So far, Dr. McKorley seem to be the only private Business Man in the country who has come out with such a bold initiative, playing a front line and pivotal role to aid government efforts to curb the spread of the virus.

Distribution of McDan hand sanitizer will be in Ada today, Wednesday, March 25, 2020 and then move to the Ashanti Region and the Northern Region.

Dr. McKorley has however assured that the general public will not be left out in the free distribution of the hand sanitizers.
