Ghanaian Lawyer, Maurice Ampaw has added his voice to the debate on the recent news on a woman who bit off a Fire officer’s manhood during an interview on UTV’s ‘Waka a waka’.

The fire officer in question, Eric Ansah, the Municipal Commander at the Techiman Fire Station, is believed to have attempted to rape his 27-year-old subordinate on Friday, September 16 at her residence.

According to the controversial Lawyer, there is a high possibility the lady in question committed the act out of self-defense while adding that it is even possible for a husband to rape his wife.

“I believe the lady did this in self-defense. [But], society tends not to believe women in such cases. It is usually assumed the lady seduced the man for money but rape is real.”

Maurice Ampaw who believes there should be a mutual consent for sexual acts between lovers stressed that evidences like text messages should be prove that, indeed the commander and the lady were in a romantic relationship as stated by the commander during a query.

“Even if they were in an amorous relationship, there was no way the lady would have bitten the man’s manhood. This doesn’t happen between lovers,” he averred.

He advised young ladies to be on guard and encouraged seminars by Human Resource and Public Relations to educate new staff, especially females, to be cautious and not involve themselves in office romance.
