Exclusive on Metro TV’s TGIF tomorrow
Bobie Ansah Speaks
…As mass resignation hits Multimedia
As Mr. Kwesi Twum, owner of Joy Fm and Multimedia Broadcasting Group continues to reel under the mass exodus of some of his trusted and best staff, one such hitherto member of staff, Nana Kwabena Bobie Ansah is set to burst-out tomorrow on K.S.M’s Thank God Its Fridays (TGIF) show on Metro Tv at 9.30pm.
Backed by powerful and influential persons of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) within the group, Mr. Kwesi Twum has, after months of hounding the gifted, talented and industrious Nana Kwabena Bobie Ansah finally succeeded in callously giving him the sack last month.
Bobie Ansah in the last four years has exceptionally built his widely listened to evening-rush-hour program, ‘Eko Sie Sen’ into becoming the flag ship program of Asempa Fm, one of the radio stations under the Multimedia Group, and a major income earner for the group.
Tomorrow on his popular captivating show, Thank God is Friday, a program designed to celebrate Ghanaian superstars, the King of Comedy in Ghana, Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM) is for the first time playing host to Nana Bobie Ansah who is expected to break his silence and tell it all since he was forcefully ‘crushed’ at Multimedia recently.
Snippets of information gathered by The Al-Hajj indicates that Bobie Ansah has decided this time around to open up after weeks of hesitations “because he has been deeply hurt and emotionally damaged by the raw deal meted out to him by Mr. Kwasi Twum and Multimedia, an action he himself has described as ‘grave injustice’”.
According to our source, Nana Bobie Ansah will be speaking of how he felt betrayed by Mr. Twum especially and management of Asempa Fm in general.
“Bobie is going to make sure that no stone is left unturned in the interview in as far as his politically motivated dismissal from a job that he has given all his best in the last four years to take it to where it is now; is concern”, our source divulged.
Bobie, as he is fondly called, would insist his unceremonious departure from the Multimedia group was purely politically motivated and would lead his viewers into how the whole drama was carefully planned and executed within the multimedia group in connivance with a political interest.
Some names that are likely to pop-up we understand will include; Jane Ohenewa Gyeke, Ekyi Quarm, John Boadu and a host of others and it will blow your mind.
Nana Bobie Ansah was first suspended by his employers following brouhaha that had arisen on the show on Wednesday February 22 2012, when hundreds of angry supporters of the opposition New Patriotic Party besieged the premises of Asempa FM threatening to enter the studios to beat up Bobie Ansah and his producers.
But for the timely intervention of police personnel and some private security persons around, the situation would have turned nasty.
Management of Multimedia Company, owners of Joy, Adom and Asempa FM stations among others subsequently took the program, ‘Eko Sie Sen’ off air when the NPP threatened not to have anything to do with the station again.
Ironically, the management of the station has failed to either lodge a complaint against the NPP militants’ attack on the station at the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) or even offer a word of condemnation against that despicable violent behavior of the Anthony Karbo-led all-die-be-die group.
Then on Monday the 16th of April 2012, Nana Bobie Ansah, who was earlier assured of hosting a yet-to-be launched program on the station by the management was handed his dismissal letter without any reason/s assigned.
Bobie Ansah may have suffered his fate today but the question is who will be next? All ready, information reaching your authoritative Al-Hajj reveals that prominent staffs of Multimedia are leaving the company in droves. Amongst these include; the Editor of Multitv, one Fred, Mr. Isaac Yeboah, editor of myjoyonline and Mr. Ahuma Ocansey, alias Daddy Bosco, the programmes director for Hitz FM.
Two others, whom we are told have been on leave, are reported to have over stayed their leaves and may most likely not show up. They are Mr. Sammy Yirenkyi, programs manager, Asempa Fm and a producer at Tema based Adom Fm, Kojo Preko, who is cooling off in London with spouse and new born twins, whiles the indefatigable Kwabena Adisi, a.k.a Bola Ray has his resignation letter kept under the sheets.
In a related development, reports in the News One newspaper says Daddy Bosco has pitched camp at Okay 101.7 FM, sister station of Peace 104.3 FM, Multimedia rivals in the broadcasting industry.
The paper further claimed that, ‘for rather inexplicable reasons, the Multimedia Group of networks has been rocked with several resignations from some of its key staff members in recent times. Reports said the station would have an exodus of resignations in the coming months’.
