President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said Ghana stands unique in Africa when it comes to religious tolerance.

Ghana he stated is the home to every religious group and we are the envy of every nation. The president who was delivering his message at the Eid Mubarak prayers at the Independence Square said, ‘’indeed our country stands unique in West Africa, both in terms of inter and intra religious cooperation.

‘’Ghana is home to persons of virtually every religious denomination. They all go about their religious practices without any hindrance.‘’

He admonished Ghanaians to guard this religious tolerance so we will continue to be the envy of the world.

‘’We ought to guard this tradition of religious cooperation and tolerance…When it comes to the spirit of living together, we are the envy of many nations President Akufo-Addo urged Muslims to be guided by the core values of the Ramadan so the period of the fasting will continue to be relevant.

He underscored the need for them to continue preaching and promoting peace and eschew all forms of negativity. The president also commended the National Chief Imam, Dr. Sheik Nuhu Shaributu, for his exceptional leadership role in ensuring peace in the country.
