Management of Hope Centre donates to education and health institutions

Takoradi, Feb. 19, GNA - The management of Hope Centre and Mercy Ministries International, a US-based NGO in collaboration with Breakthrough Family Ministries International Church, has donated 200 wheel chairs, 16 computers and educational materials to selected schools and health institutions in the Western Region. The wheel chairs were presented to Ministry of Health for distribution to the physically challenged while the computers would be distributed to Diabene Senior High and Sekondi Methodist High Schools. The items were valued at more than 30,000 Ghana Cedis. Madam Anita Okeke, Director of Hope Centre and Mercy Ministries presenting the items at Takoradi at the weekend, announced that the two institutions would soon establish an orphanage and a skills development centre in the region. She said the centre would cater for and train orphans and homeless children to become responsible adults in future. Dr Sylvester Anemana, Western Regional Director of Health and Mr Ayub Morgan a representative of Shama-Ahanta Metropolitan Education Directorate received the items and thanked the donors for the gesture. Twenty Senior High Schools in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis had already benefited from similar donations.
