Kumasi, Nov. 26, GNA - A Kumasi Circuit Court, has convicted one Ibrahim Arthur to seven years imprisonment in hard labour for setting fire on money and items worth GH¢55,000 belonging to a spiritualist. The convict pleaded guilty to the charge and he was convicted on his own plea.
Briefing the court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Amoh-Yarteh, Police Chief Inspector Comfort Baffour-Kyei named the complainant as Comfort Osae, the spiritualist in charge of the Salvation Prayer Ministry located at Nkoranza near Santasi in Kumasi. She said a misunderstanding ensued between the two who lived together as concubines resulting in Arthur's relocation to an unknown place. On November 5, this year, in the early hours of the day, the complainant, who had left the house, was later informed that her room had been broken into with part of her belongings set ablaze. She rushed home and found her things burnt including an amount of GH¢2,100.
A formal report was subsequently made to the police leading to Arthur's arrest. Police visited the scene and took photographs to ascertain the cost of items.
After thorough investigations, Arthur was charged and arraigned.
