A man identified as Francis Adeze has drowned in River Kua in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region during Easter “beach Party” on Monday.

The incident was only noticed Tuesday Morning after the deceased failed to return home. His body was retrieved around 12 noon by officials of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and Police assisted by some local divers.

Information gathered by Kasapa News indicates that the Govinakrom stretch of the Kua River has been turned into a “beach” which was opened for the first time on Easter Monday for revellers in the area to Swim and have fun.

Hundreds of residents from the surrounding communities including the deceased visited the place to have fun but did not return home.

Traditional rulers in the area were therefore informed and a libation poured at the riverside to pave way for the search of his body which was later retrieved.

Kwadwo Minta, an eyewitness told Kasapa News “there was blood oozing from the nose of the deceased. But the body was not bloated rather had flat tummy”.
