The family of a man who has allegedly been kidnapped by some unknown men are asking the Police to do more to help them rescue their relative.

According to Dramani, brother of the alleged victim, Jerry went out to visit his girlfriend at Nima in Accra last Thursday and has since not returned.

He told Morning Starr that his brother called him on Friday and asked him to send him money through mobile money, a request he declined, and instead asked his brother to come home.

He said the call came in again and this time, he was compelled to send him the money after an unknown voice snapped the phone from his brother and demanded that the money was sent immediately so they could buy food for him.

“He called me to send him money to buy food. I asked him to come home else I won’t give him the money, the next day he called me to send him money again. While I was chatting with him, someone took the phone from him and told me to send him money immediately. I heard him saying he is at Kanda. A friend of his showed me a picture of him beating and slashed with cutlass. Yesterday we roamed the whole of Kanda and Nima but we still couldn’t find him. The police doesn’t appear to be serious with the matter, they keep tossing us. We need help”.

Starr News followed up at the Nima Police where it was confirmed that the matter has been reported after the Spintex road police referred the victim’s family to them. He is believed to be held around the Kanda mosque by the unknown assailants.
