Man 25, jailed for threatening father

Twifo Praso (C/R), Oct. 27, GNA - Kofi Akrobi, 25, from Twifo Ampenkro, who threatened to kill his father, Opanyin Kofi Yaw and also destroyed his plantain farm worth 300,000 cedis, was on Tuesday sentenced to six months imprisonment by a magistrate's court at Praso. Akrobi had pleaded guilty to causing unlawful damage and threat of death.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Samuel Kpogo told the court presided over by Mr Joseph Blay that on October 22, the convict who could not find his catapult became infuriated, picked a cutlass and destroyed a plantain farm near his father's house.

The prosecution said when Opanyin Yaw asked him to stop the convict became offended and chased his father with the cutlass with a threat to kill him.

Inspector Kpogo told the court that the complainant took to his heels and reported the case to the police at Hemang who arrested him.
