Malaysian who spat in the face of Ghanaian driver to be deported

Accra, April 11, GNA - The Malaysian employee of Ghana Telecom, Mr Latib Abdul Tokimin, who spat in the face of his Ghanaian driver has been given 72 hours to leave the country.

This follows the revoking of Mr Tokimin's residence and work permits by the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS). A statement issued by the Director of Immigration, Mr W.K. Aboah, in Accra on Tuesday, said the conduct of the Malaysian was found to be "reprehensible and an affront to the dignity of Ghana."

"The Ghana Immigration Service takes a serious view of the attitude of Mr Tokimin and advises foreign employees and expatriates to treat their employees with due respect and dignity irrespective of colour or race."

The Police, Ghana Telecom and GIS investigated the behaviour of the Malaysian and presented their report to the authorities.
