The Chief of La Abese Adonten, Nii Kwade Okropong I, a successful entrepreneur and a philanthropist has advised the youth especially University graduates to make entrepreneurship their top-most priority.

According to him, this, will help them better their lives and also create employment for themselves.

Nii Kwade Okropong I gave the advice at the annual durbar and installation of Legon Ga Mantse by the GaDangme Students’ Association of the University of Ghana, Legon at the Akuafo Gardens in Accra.

He called on the youth especially those in the Universities to have the mindset of becoming job creators rather than becoming job seekers.

He stated that this would help end high unemployment rate in the country as well as help the growth of the economy.

He noted that if the youth in the country engage themselves into viable business ventures, the current level of the economy will be a thing of the past.

He urged the youth to say no to 'white colour' job options, rather follow their dreams and contribute to the wave of entrepreneurship policies by government and individuals.

“I was at a restaurant in South Africa and I heard two young men who are in their final year and were discussing how to get a 'white colour' job after completing the University......." this said is not the way forward for Africa.

He, therefore, called on the youth to identify their unique skill, nurture it and put it into action and hence the need for the youth to find something productive to earn a living.

The La Abese Adonten Mantse later called on the government to strengthen policies of entrepreneurial activities to help establish friendly environment that will improve growth of business and self-employment creation.
