The maintenance works on Yapei and Buipe bridges which serve as a major link between the three regions in the north and south is expected to be completed in four weeks, Roads and Highways Minister, Mr. Amoako Atta has announced.

He told Parliament that major works on the two bridges are also expected be completed first quarter of 2018.

The Minister who was summoned to appear before the House and give reasons why the bridges were closed to users said as part of interim measures, ferries have been dispatched to the area to help reduce the challenges users are going through.

The Minister further indicated that an alternative bridge will be constructed at Daboya to serve as a bye-pass.
