Hearts of Oak striker Joseph Esso believes the current Black Stars B team should be maintained if Ghana has any ambitions of winning laurels in the near future.

The striker says after reaching the final of the 2019 WAFU Cup tournament in Senegal, this team has demonstrated that with a little push they can reach higher heights.

Esso, who got the equalizing goal for Ghana in the second half of extra time against host Senegal says if kept, he and his compatriots can become the mainstay of the senior Black Stars team.

“Unbelievably disappointing and simply not good enough to lose a finals game, but given the circumstances it’s very unfortunate we lost.

“It’s very important we stick together not only as a team but as a nation and learn from our mistakes and bounce back”, Joseph Esso posted on his Facebook page.

Senegal shook off threats from Ghana to lift the 2019 WAFU tournament with a sensational 3-1 penalty shootouts win after a thrilling 1-1.

The Black Stars B were hoping to win the tournament for the 3 rd time in succession but that was not to be as Ghana’s penalty woes continued.
