Mahama treats Ghanaians with disrespect - NPP

“So sad is the timing for the increment of tariffs, this is a black Christmas”, were the first words of Emmanuel Attafuah Danso when Peacefmonline.com caught up with him to know his views on the new proposed tariffs.

The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has announced that tariffs for electricity will go up by 9.73 percent while that of water will go up by 6.80 per cent from January 1st.

As National Youth Organizer for the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Attafuah-Danso’s main concern was centered on how the jobless youth of the nation would find money to settle their bills. Analyzing the issue from a political angle, Mr. Attafuah- Danso noted that leadership under President Mahama was getting frustrating day in and day out.

He found it intriguing to have the new tariffs slapped on Ghanaians at a time President Mahama and his family were not in the country.

“Why will you as president slap high tariffs on us and run away leaving the youth of Ghana in this difficulty? He has withdrawn allowances meant for teacher trainings and refused to pay grants for orphans. He has treated us all with disrespect and metal hands”, Mr. Attafuah-Danso observed.
